Dodge Ram SRT-8 4x4
(Currently being build)
I'm excited to share my latest car project. A 03' Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 shortbed. Growing up in Norway in the early 2000's meant as a young "petrolhead" you had to watch the weekly car tv-show called Autofil. And one memory that always stuck with me was when the program host Jan-Erik Larssen and racing driver Tommy Rustad tested a red Dodge Ram pickup truck known as the SRT-10 on the track. A V10 powered 500 horsepower beast that impressed them both and became a huge tv-highlight and one of their top 5 cars they had ever driven. Well, I knew I wanted a truck like that one day and it became a childhood dream.
So, the last couple of years that dream resurfaced and I have quietly been planning to build a similar truck to the SRT-10, but a more practical version with 4wd and a smaller v8 engine. So, when I suddenly came across 4 genuine SRT-10 wheels for sale I just had to buy them, even though I did not have the car.. Yet, the universe works in mysterious ways, so a week later a 1500 Ram came for sale rather cheap. The result was that I bought it. Of course it is a project, it needs new head gaskets and some tlc, but the frame is good and not too much rust.
The goal is it to be a SRT-10 lookalike, but with a v8 and 4x4, so a "SRT-8". It will be painted flame red as the weather allows it in the spring. And of course it needs the hood scoop and spoiler. Keep an eye.
