Magnus Marthinsen. Mechanic, naturalist, filmmaker and writer.
Growing up in the Norwegian countryside, I early on developed a growing interest for farming and machinery, which over the years pretty much formed me to who I am today. I have always loved nature, since my first memories from my time sitting besides the grain fields -watching tractors. Although, it was first in my early 20´s my interest for wilderness travel and bushcraft blossomed. And that have led me to have spent time together with some big names in the bushcraft/outdoor world, like the well known British woodsman, Ray Mears and the Norwegian explorer Lars Monsen. With the Nordic forest close to hand, this is my main habitat where I am used to thrive, but also adventures on the British Isles, Iceland and across North America is found in my travel log. I have also been a writer for the Norwegian magazine "Traktor" since 2015. And also delivered several articles in different Norwegian outdoor magazines. |
About Woodsman Original
Ever sine I saw Lars Monsen's journey across Canada on TV, just him, his dogs and a camera, I have had this knowing that I was supposed have a camera with me. So, one man and a camera in the woods, but I wanted to add one more aspect, - the vehicles. I have always loved different types of machinery, and to weave all this togheter into storytelling and films is what I call Woodsman Original.
