Magnus Marthinsen is a hard working mechanic chasing success as a wilderness explorer and a carbuilder.
But when his dog, a 9-year old Alaskan Malamute named Lakota, gets badly injured in a automobile accident - caused by Magnus, his life gets turned upside down and he is forced to slow down and take care of his beloved dog.

After Lakota (Magnus's dog) get badly injured after being hit by his car. He decides to take the entire summer off from work and help his dog heal. But as he now has a lot more spare time, he choose to take up farming. How hard could that be?

As Lakota heals, Magnus begin to learn why farmers always complain about the weather, because it never do what the farmers want. A severe drought threatens his potato crop.

Wintertime means that you don't have that much to do as a farmer, or? Well, besides doing forestry work, Magnus get busy as new problems comes knocking on the door.

After a hiking trip to a nature reserve ruined by recent logging machines. Magnus decides to do his part to help nature. Because without bees and insects we all would be screwed. But it is not only his small farm that gets rewilded, but also him and Lakota.
